SPECIALTY PROGRAMS

Beyond the Four Asset Classes

These programs with unique mechanics and investor motivations — immigration, tax efficiency, and energy income — each mapped to our essential infrastructure thesis.

Important: General Information Only

The programs below involve specific immigration and tax rules that change over time and depend on individual circumstances. Nothing on this page is immigration, legal, or tax advice. Speak with a qualified immigration attorney and/or CPA before making any decision related to these programs.

Immigration-Linked Investment

EB-5
Investment Visa

The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program allows qualifying foreign nationals to obtain U.S. permanent residency by making a substantial at-risk investment in a U.S. business that creates the required number of American jobs. Kubera Capital is developing EB-5-eligible investment structures tied to our Community Infrastructure and Real Estate pillars — projects sited in Targeted Employment Areas (TEAs) that support the required job-creation thresholds.

How It Works
Key Considerations
  • Current federal minimum investment is $800,000 in a Targeted Employment Area (TEA), or $1,050,000 outside a TEA — figures set by federal law and subject to change.
  • Capital must remain “at risk” for the sustainment period; there is no guaranteed return of principal.
  • The investment must create or preserve the required number of full-time U.S. jobs.
  • This program is currently in development at Kubera Capital — contact us for current availability and timeline.

Tax-Advantaged Energy Income

Solar
Tax Credits

Solar and renewable energy projects can qualify for federal tax incentives — including the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and accelerated depreciation — that materially improve after-tax returns for investors with sufficient tax liability to use them. Kubera Capital structures solar investment opportunities within our Energy Sovereignty pillar, pairing renewable asset ownership with these tax-advantaged structures.

How It Works
Key Considerations
  • The federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and bonus/accelerated depreciation rules change periodically — current eligibility depends on when a project is placed in service.
  • Tax benefits are most valuable to investors with sufficient passive or active tax liability to absorb them; suitability varies by individual tax situation.
  • Underlying project economics still depend on power purchase agreements, utility rates, and project execution — tax benefits are a component of return, not a substitute for project quality.
  • Consult your CPA to model the specific tax impact for your situation before committing capital.

Working Interest & IDC Deductions

Oil &
Gas

Direct working-interest investments in oil and gas drilling programs offer a different risk/return and tax profile than our other offerings — including the potential to deduct Intangible Drilling Costs (IDCs) against active income in the year they're incurred, a benefit largely unique to direct energy investment. These are higher-risk, higher-potential-yield positions suited to investors seeking current income and tax efficiency who understand commodity-price and drilling risk.

How It Works
Key Considerations
  • Intangible Drilling Cost (IDC) deductions can typically be taken against active income, unlike most passive real estate or fund losses — a meaningful difference for high-income investors, but the specific tax treatment depends on your situation.
  • Returns are tied to commodity prices, well productivity, and operator execution — this is a higher-volatility asset class than our real estate or credit offerings.
  • Structured as direct working interests or limited partnership interests, depending on the specific program.
  • Suited to investors who understand energy-sector risk and have the tax profile to benefit from IDC treatment — not a fit for every accredited investor.

The International Entrepreneurs (TiE), was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals with roots in the Indus region.

TiE Carolinas is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to foster and support entrepreneurship in the Carolinas. We have three objectives: Facilitate networking among members, foster and nurture entrepreneurship and integrate our membership with the mainstream community.

CHARTER MEMBERS

TiE Carolinas Charter Members (CMs) are successful, high-profile entrepreneurs, corporate intrapreneurs and thought leaders, who have reached a stage in their professional life when they are ready, willing and able to contribute to fellow members. CMs are the pillars of the organization and provide critical impetus that allows each Chapter to succeed in its mission to fostering entrepreneurship in its community.

TiE Carolinas’ Charter Membership is offered on a “by-invitation-only” basis in accordance with a due process specified in our Chapter By-Laws that requires two-thirds majority approval of existing CMs. It is restricted to accomplished individuals who demonstrate the ability and willingness to help entrepreneurs in our community.
